Return and Refund Policy

Thank you for shopping with A2Z Aquariums. We aim to provide quality livestock, aquarium supplies, and products for your hobby. Please review our refund and return policy below. By purchasing from us online or in-store, you agree to these terms.

1. General Policy Overview

Due to the nature of our business involving perishable and living organisms, our return and refund policies differ depending on the product category.


2. Livestock – All Sales Final

This includes:

  • Fish
     
  • Coral
     
  • Invertebrates
     
  • Reptiles
     
  • Small animals
     
  • Any live organisms
     

All livestock sales are final. No returns, exchanges, or refunds.
 

Once livestock leaves our store, its care, environment, and transport are outside our control. We cannot offer credit or compensation for animal loss due to acclimation, water conditions, incompatibility, transport, etc.


3. Dry Goods & Non-Livestock Products

This includes:

  • Equipment
     
  • Food
     
  • Additives
     
  • Decorations
     
  • Tanks and stands
     
  • Filters, pumps, heaters, lighting, etc.
     
  • Any other packaged or manufactured goods
     

Return Window: 30 Days

Unused and unopened dry goods may be returned within 30 days of purchase.

To qualify:
✔ Original packaging
✔ Product in new condition
✔ Receipt or proof of purchase
✔ No damages or signs of use

We reserve the right to deny a return if the item does not meet these conditions.


4. Non-Returnable Dry Goods

Certain dry goods cannot be returned due to safety, contamination, or resale standards:

  • Opened food or supplements
     
  • Used equipment
     
  • Any product exposed to water
     
  • Clearance or discounted items
     
  • Gift cards
     
  • Custom orders
     
  • Special order items
     

5. Defective or Damaged Products

If a product is defective or damaged, please notify us within 7 days of purchase or pickup.

We may:

  • Replace the item
     
  • Offer store credit
     
  • Refer you to the manufacturer warranty
     

Manufacturer warranties vary by brand and product. For certain items (tanks, lights, filters), warranty claims may be handled directly through the manufacturer.

We may request:

  • Photos or videos of the defect
     
  • Original packaging
     
  • Proof of purchase
     

6. Online Orders

A2Z Aquariums does not ship any merchandise or livestock.

Pickup Only

All online orders must be picked up in-store at:

Orders not picked up within a reasonable timeframe (typically 3–7 days depending on the product) may be cancelled or restocked.

If livestock becomes unavailable or unfit for sale prior to pickup, we will provide a replacement or store credit.

7. Refund Method

Approved refunds will be issued in the original payment method when possible.

Cash purchases may be refunded in-store.
Electronic purchases (Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit cards) may take 3–10 business days depending on the provider.

Store credit may be issued in cases where:

  • Replacement is unavailable
     
  • Payment processor limitations apply
     
  • Item is returnable but packaging is opened
     

8. Customer Responsibilities

Customers assume responsibility for:

  • Transporting livestock safely
     
  • Researching compatibility of species
     
  • Maintaining proper tank conditions
     
  • Following acclimation procedures
     
  • Using dry goods correctly
     

We are not liable for:

  • Improper installation of equipment
     
  • Tank crashes, electrical issues, heating/cooling failures
     
  • Death or disease caused by improper handling or mixing
     

9. Store Rights

A2Z Aquariums reserves the right to:

  • Deny a return that does not meet requirements
     
  • Limit or refuse returns at our discretion
     
  • Request receipts or ID for verification
     

Our policies are designed to protect animal welfare, product integrity, and customer safety.
